Smiling customer service

Call Center Representatives, otherwise known as customer service representatives, provide information to customers and respond to questions and complaints. Some also take orders, input data into a computer or process returns. The Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook reflects that this occupation is expected to have average growth over the next seven years. And the good news is, ABR has many call center opportunities available right now, particularly at our ABR/LHI location!

Call center knowledge requirements will vary depending on the company.  Call center positions usually involve using and developing the following skills:

  • teamwork
  • customer service
  • problem solving
  • persuasiveness

So how do you prepare for a call center interview?  Best-job-interview.com provides the following commonly asked questions to help you prepare:

  • How many calls did you take/make in an average day?
  • Tell me about a time when you were able to help out a team member.
  • Describe a situation when you had to deal with demands from an unreasonable customer.
  • Give me an example of a decision you had to make quickly while dealing with a customer recently.
  • Tell me about a time you were able to learn something complex in a short time period.
  • Describe a situation when a customer really upset you but you had to remain composed.
  • How have you managed to overcome a customer’s objections in a recent call?
