Slips, Trips and Falls: Workplace Safety

National Safety Month

June is National Safety Month – the annual observance to help keep each other safe from the workplace to any place. We are excited to join the National Safety Council in observing this important initiative. The National Safety Council is America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate. They also focus on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths.

Slips, Trips, and Falls

This week we will be discussing slip trips and falls to end National Safety Month. Slips, trips, and falls were the second leading cause of workplace death and the third leading cause of workplace injuries resulting in days away from work in 2020 – a real safety threat.

Falls can happen anywhere. Whether it’s working at heights or tripping on the same level, you always need to keep your eyes out for hazards. Overall, having a better understanding of the data can help you prevent needless injuries.

ABR Safety Tip for Injury Prevention: Be Aware of Your Surroundings

To conclude, we will leave you with an ABR safety tip! Every job site has hazards. Stay safe by being aware of your surroundings. Common factors with slips, trips, and falls are slippery floors or poor lighting. These factors are often associated with construction and manufacturing sites but falls can happen in an office from things such as tripping over a box or slipping on a newly mopped floor.
